An excellent resource for the early musical education of children

One of the components of a complete education is exposure to music of all forms, including classical. The education should begin early and include a bit of the history of the great classical composers. This book is an ideal one to begin that education, containing brief biographies of Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. The fundamental structure of the presentation is a page of text on the left and a color image on the right. While the text is reasonable, the images sometimes contain a bit of embellishment. For example, on page 33 there is an image depicting Mozart being literally kicked out of the Ducal Palace. He is shown tumbling down the stairs with the man at the top having his right foot raised as if he had just planted it squarely in Mozart's sit down spot. I really doubt if that is an accurate rendition of the event, although it will no doubt generate a few giggles in the readership. Some visual embellishment notwithstanding, this is a book that is a worthy addition to the music education of children in late elementary school.
