Guess who#146;s learning to read? Little Witch is--and she loves it. But Mother Witch won#146;t allow nice books about princesses and princes in the house! Little Witch resorts to using invisibility spells and staying up late to read, but it#146;s starting to wear her out. When the Witch family finally discovers Little Witch#146;s secret reading habit, she has one last trick to change their minds about books!
My two almost five year old granddaughters love this book. It is silly, yet an eager pre-reader can identify with the little witch who really wants to learn to read. I haven't been able to locate Little Witch Learns to Write. It must be out of print. I think my granddaughters would love that book, too.
Kids can related to the story & Funny!

I recommend this for begining reader, not necessary for the reading level (3 would be too much for beginning reader), but for parents to read it for them. My son who is 5 yrs old just love this book! He tends to get discouraged about his reading, but this book is funny and story is very much related to what he is going through. "Little Witch trys to read the book, but she could only read a few pages..." then she said "I cannot read the book, but it's better than nothing!". My son smiles when I read this part for him. After that he never whined when he can only read a few words in the book. :D

This book is great for fist graders learning to read. They enjoy the illustrations and the text is easy for them to access.

I bought this book to read to my daughter when she was about four. And just like the other Little Witch books, this story held her attention just fine. As my daughter learned to read more on her own she would read with me. She is now going on eight and still likes to take out her Little Witch books and read them to me. Good age group for these would be between the ages of 4 and probably 8. Nice set of stories.
