The Little Pink Book of Weddings: The No-Nonsense Guide to Toasts, Tips, and Vows

This book has information that is useful at the beginning and end of planning a wedding. It has very helpful sections on how to word your wedding invitations depending on who's hosting, parents divorced, re-married, single, deceased, etc. Save-the-date cards, thank you cards, bridal showers ~ it's covered. But I bought the book because of the concise but in-depth sections on vows, readings and toasting. I found that you spend so much energy picking out the reception site, church, menu, flowers, photographer, music, dresses, tuxes etc. that when it came time to work on the truly meaningful parts of my wedding, like the ceremony itself and the toasts, I was almost out of time. That's why I would by this book FIRST. Read these sections and let them sit with you. Then when you're ready to work on the ceremony itself and possibly put together a few words for a toast, this book has a lot of good suggestions and sample readings. Plus, it's small enough that you can slip it in your purse and read while you're on the subway or in line at the store.
