Little Pear is a young boy who lives in a small village in China. Although his story takes place long ago, Little Pear is much like any little boy today--always on the lookout for excitement and adventure!
Wherever Little Pear goes, there is fun to be had. His friends love to join his adventures--especially his best friend, Big Head. Accompany Little Pear as he goes ice fishing, masquerades as a beggar boy, finds a tiger in his house,...
Our little grandsons love having this book read to them. The adventures are just right for 3 and 4 year olds to love and learn from, and it interests them to learn about a family in another country and culture, as well in a "time long ago".
Little Pear and His Friends

This is the third Little Pear book my youngest son has read in the Little Pear book series. My son is not an avid reader but these books have captivated him in learning to read. Eleanor Lattimore wrote these books in a beautiful style of innocence and curiosity that my son enjoys and identifies with. I love these books like I do the Curious George series. But instead of the escapades of a little monkey, you are introduced to a little chinese boy who lives in a small village in China around the early 1900s. This particular book was written in 10 chapters of about 10 pages each and was easy to read. Little Pear books are charming and has a wholesome family orientation. If Ms Lattimore had written more books about Little Pear, I would have purchased them all.

I am so glad to find these books again. I used to check them out at our local library and they looked pretty old back then (I am almost 37!). I cannot wait to share them with my little girl, I hope she enjoys them as much as I did.
A wonderful book!

The Little Pear stories are fabulous. My four year old daughter loves them and we read them over and over. They are perfect for this age and older.
