Very good and educational book

in this book LISA'S WAR many things happened. It was very interesting and you wont want to put the book down. Even though it is very short with only 108 pages it is very thirlling. From leaving underground newspapers on street cars to helping Jews on boats so they can get to Sweeden. Lisa is very active trough the whole book. (...) I urge any one above the age of 12 to read this book.

AWSOME

This is an amazing book for young adults about a young, gawky girl coming into age during world war II in Denmark. Her father is a jewish doctor who saved a baby girl when the Nazis came in and shot her family in the delivery room. Her brother is part of an underground resistance and is a huge activist despite being only a few years older than her. His best friend Jesper is also part of this resistance and during Lisa's experiences her feelings grow towards him. Pretty soon, Lisa is also part of the resistance, and the group is smuggling guns and trying to sneak people into Switzerland.

Matas' best (and first) book about youths during the Second World War. A heart wrenching and suspenseful page turner that won't let you put it down. Set in Copenhagen, giving new insights to the impact of the German invasions on the youth of the time. Lisa was awarded the 1988 Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction. MUST READ.
