LOVED THIS ONE! GREAT ENTERTAINMENT!

LINK was a great, quick read. The characters of Jack and Samantha were both well-developed and interesting and their relationship was involving, and not as cliche as other adventure books. The writing was outstanding. Kudos to Mr. Becker for a great first piece of fiction. As I read many of the reviews, it seems some people have problems with a couple of factoids from the book, but perhaps they should relax and read LINK for what it is-- not dogma-- not philosophy-- but light, entertaining fiction reading. Well done! I continue to recommend it to all my friends and family-- and they have enjoyed it as much as I have.If one is the ..., insecure personality type that loves to go after authors or try to critique books or other creative endeavors because they don't have an ounce of creative talent themselves-- then this novel might not be for you. It takes a liberal look at many established theories of science, though it never seems preachy. But if you can handle a little thought-provoking and an overall enjoyable read, then pick up LINK now. I tend to most agree with the reviewer that disagreed with some of the science presented but still recommended the book. It is better than most of the commercial fiction out there.

Crichton meets Indiana Jones and Mulder.

I absolutely loved this novel. Link is fast paced, action packed and filled to the brim with interesting bits of history. Who knew that learning about ancient civilizations could be so much fun. While digging deep in the desert Samantha uncovers something incredible. Something that could rock the way we view humanity's origins. With the help of her colleague Ricardo she brings her old flame, Jack back to help with the dig. The situation becomes heated when Jack and Samantha's current flame, Dorn go head to head. The dig leads them to the jungles of South America and to another ancient relic that might uncover something so fantastic and devastating that the world may never be the same. Link is simply an excuse to let your imagination run wild. Walt Becker also based his plot on many tales of old, research and respected figures findings in the world of astronomy, archaeology, math and history. Link is eye and mind opening for those who are willing to look beyond it's premise as a thriller and see it for the amazing amount of research involved in the writing of it.This book is a good read for those who enjoy thrillers, archaeology and ancient civilizations, outer space, Indiana Jones or the X-Files. Link kept me on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down. I can't wait to read more of Becker's work.

Excellent book, definitely big screen material

I will have to say that this is one of the best books I have read in a good while. What interested me most about this one was how he tied established facts and beliefs into the plot of this book. It defintely makes you wonder about everything that we "accept" regarding the history of our planet.

Fantastic Read

You will love this book. Becker is an excellent writer, with LINK praised by Clive Clussler, Nelson DeMille, and People Magazine. An adventure thriller you cannot put down!

Super adventure novel... that does stretch some science

I agree with one of the reviewers who said that they have been to Tiahuanaco, and it isn't quite as remote as the author depicts. However, I thought Mr. Becker did a wonderful job keeping it as true to life as possible. At least as true as Micheal Crichton or any of the other adventure writers (who write about dinosaurs existing on a small island off Costa Rica, for instance.) Frankly, some things must be stretched in science fiction for purposes of the story I feel. As to the other science in the book, I felt it was all right on-- though perhaps from less orthodox sources. At any rate, I agree with the reviewer that the book should get five stars as an adventure tale! It was one of my favorite books of the year.
