Reading this book is like taking a walk in the country, feeling the sunshine and gentle breeze and hearing the singing of birds and the bubbling of a brook and smelling the fragrance of flowers and rain-washed earth. This is not a book one can read thoroughly in one sitting; instead it must be read in small portions so you can savor the richness of what the author/artist is conveying. And once you have turned the last page, don't be surprised if you go back to the beginning and start all over again. I have done so twice. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking a more peaceful, joyful, and positive life.

What a magnificent treat! Thomas Kinkade writes as well as he paints! He captures his goal by convincing us to "Let Your Light Shine." My most treasured passages tell us about focal point, commitment, involvement, eternal purpose and spiritual vocation. He suggests we learn the fine art of choosing what we will allow into our lives, minds and hearts on a daily basis. He takes the time to share his beliefs about his purpose in life and his talent. This lovely book will inspire and surprise you. It makes a perfect gift for anyone seeking spiritual guidance and meaning in life. It would be a particularly appropriate gift for Jr. and High School graduates.
Very inspirational and artistic

This was a great book. The chapters, or lightposts, each elaborated on an idea for a more joyful life. One of Kinkade's suggestions that I liked was the "glow books." When something good happens to you, jot it down in a little notebook and share it with someone you love. I started my own "glow book" and already it has helped me appreciate the good things in my life. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to add a little joy to their lives. I certainly have!
Lovely person, lovely book

GIST: A painter focuses on experiencing beauty in life. HAMMOCK-TIME: It's a leisurely read in hammock or beach chair. PACE: Slow. SUBSTANCE: Yes, I've heard, read, tried most of the suggestions Mr. Kinkade recommends. His great contribution is the very atmosphere of peace that seems to pervade him and his work, however the artistic standards may be debated by other artists. I began his book with some trepidation, not knowing if he was going to turn out to be some rigid religionist, yet his attitudes surprised and touched me. QUIBBLES: I'd love to see some more variety in the type of nature scenes he portrays. COMPLEMENTARY BOOKS: All of Mr. Kinkade's other works are interesting as well.
Beautiful book!

Kinkade's artwork takes me back to a place where time stands still. This book is wonderful. His ideas for a more beautiful and fulfilling life seem very attainable. I recommend this book to everyone. I bought several copies to give away as gifts to those who are dear to me.
