Corrie and her family are an excellent example of relying on God to do His will even in wartime, and how we can only love our enemies, live and die, if necessary, for Christ by reading the Bible and taking to heart everything in it and relying on God, not any other. The courage and wisdom of this family could've only come from God. Very detailed on the Ten Boom family tree and the struggles and triumphs Corrie experienced throughout her life. God gets the glory in the condensed 3-book hardback. This book is a huge encouragement and blessing! Best for teens and up, in my opinion.
One of the best books.

Absolute wonderful read, I loved it. I would read along with The Hiding place I don't think it matters the order but that comes first. I was blessed to learn about her and her family. It's life changing to me.

What an incredible and insightful book. If this is your first introduction to Corrie Ten Boom, may I suggest first reading "The Hiding Place", the story of Corrie's experiences in Nazi prison camps. This book (Life Lessons) contains the before and after of that story, as well as lessons learned in the middle of it. Corrie writes simply and straightforwardly about things most of us cannot imagine, both before, during and after the war. She is a role model to every woman who is trying to make a difference in the world around her.
Christian Inspiration at Its best

Sometimes there are old books that deserve to be dusted off and read again. Such are these older classics. This book actually has three books in it: Life Lessons from the Hiding Place, In My Father's House, and Tramp for the Lord. The latter two were written by Corrie Ten Boom. The first book, Life Lessons from the Hiding Place, was written by Pam Rosewell Moore, Corrie's assistant for the last five years of her life. This book is an excellent overview of Corrie ten Boom's life and has excerpts from all of her books, writings, and many private letters. It is inspirational as we see the life of this amazing woman from a person who knew her well. To me, it is an excellent book for those who want overviews of the lives of great Christians in history. The last two books are written in an easy to read manner as Corrie ten Boom collaborated with two different people to write each of these books. I think that the book In My Father's House would appeal to people of all ages because it takes us from Corrie's birth until just before she was taken prisoner by the Nazi's when she was in her 50's. She was constantly looking for needs and ministering to others. Unwilling to stay stagnant, she was a person who drove to make herself a better person through education, exposure to others, and serving others. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy biographies of great Christians throughout history.
