A Must Read!

Mr.Grigg is very intelligent, his book is well-researched, and if you're not already frightened at the direction the U.S. is headed, this piece is guaranteed to get you there, and rightfully so. A lovely bonus is an excellent interview with Mr.Grigg that was included as a surprise. I cannot recommend this book strongly enough, and I also recommend popping in and checking out the author's delightful blog as well: http://freedominourtime.blogspot.com/

Excellent and on target

This book is essential reading for every US citizen concerned about the transmogrification of our republic into an electoral tyranny. There is a bipartisan consensus to strengthen the power of the government and strip the American people of the rights and freedom which we once heralded before the world. It's as if we live in a one-party party state. Yes, there are two wings of the party: a "liberal" wing and a "conservative" wing, but it's still a one-party system.

The Institutionalization of Torture

For all of those who dismiss the prospect of the American government using torture with a wink and a nod, this book is a shocking eye-opener to how using torture on "terrorists" easily slides into practicing torture upon American citizens. It shows how torture is very counter-productive, as it demoralizes those who practice it, and usually extracts only false information. When those who are trained by this terror machine return to a civilian career in law enforcement, that is when terrorism really comes to the streets of anytown, USA.

Accurate depiction of Americans' eroding liberty

As an avid reader of William Grigg's blog, Pro Libertate, I was already familiar with many of the heinous criminal misdeeds perpetrated by the oath-betraying minions of tyranny who comprise modern American politicians and "law enforcement" described in this book. Whether it's Congress and our "Great Leader" eviscerating habeas corpus with the Military Commissions Act, gutting the Fourth Amendment with the so-called PATRIOT Act, using "signing statements" to circumvent new laws, the proliferation of amoral SWAT teams or Orange County deputies crushing a prisoner's [...] with impunity or severely beating and kicking in the ribs of an innocent businessman with his hands cuffed behind his back, Grigg thoroughly documents government abuses here in the "Land of the Free." This first edition needed a better proofreading as there are numerous typos and punctuation errors, but they're trivial compared to the important material contained inside. I encourage people to buy and read this book while they're still "allowed" to.

The real terrorists

My chance of being injured or killed by a radical Muslim here in American is practically non-existent. That brand of "terror" does not concern me. What DOES bring a measure of concern, even fear, to me, after reading Mr. Grigg's book, is account after account of near unbelievable, yet undeniable (well referenced) savagery executed on innocent citizens of our own country BY OUR OWN POLICE! I have a much higher risk of being unlawfully detained and abused by either local police or Homeland Security thugs than being injured or killed by a radical Muslim! I am NOT saying radical Islam is not a problem. I am saying we have a much larger problem already in place. This is not a subject most of us enjoy reading about. However, it is a subject we will either read about and DO something about, or risk being the victim of it. Our liberties, our well-being, even our very lives are at stake. I highly recommend this book to all who are concerned about the loss of liberty, freedom, and due process of law in America.
