For use in schools and libraries only. Can Lexi, the street-smart squirrel and his friend PeeWee, a well-read guinea pig, make a difference in the life of a man living hungry and friendless in Central Park?
I work at a Library, so I'm always reading books to recommend to patrons of all ages. I stumbled across this book as I was moving books around. I found the book to be a cute read, that I think young readers would love. I enjoyed the antics of Lexi the squirrel.

My Kindergartener loves this series, and I love all the little messages and opportunities for discussions that the book affords. The story is all about animals and life in Central Park from their perspective. The tidbits we learned about Guinea Pigs are right on (we own one) and the opportunity for perspective taking is very good for kids this age (developmental psych is my area of expertise professionally). Enjoyable read for the whole family.
