I could hardly put down the thrilling sequel to USSA. Gorton was masterful in connecting the old story line with the current global political backdrop, somehow seamlessly. The great characters from USSA are continued, along with a host of new, fascinating personalities. A great read for people that like suspense, wonder and political perspectives all woven together.

After immensely enjoying Michael Gorton's first book, USSA, I eagerly looked forward to reading his follow up novel, Lex Talionis...and wasn't disappointed in the least. He has artfully combined fiction with actual current trends in America that is both spell binding and cause for concern. Could our country fall to foreign powers or internal sabatoge...? If so, could our country have the intestinal fortitude to be victorious over such assaults...? His masterfull weaving of individuals with groups leads one to play out the next events in our own minds before they even happen...sometimes with conflicting results. All in all, another wonderful read with only one question at the end...Where does Michael Gorton go from here...? Highly recommended...Don
