captivates children of this librarian every time

My 2.5 year-old and 5-year-old daughters asks for this book frequently at bedtime. The gentle rhythm of this story and the playful exchanges between mother and child make this one of my favorites to read too. The illustrations are soft with a sort of gentle glow about them. My oldest daughter especially loves to analyze the pictures and point out all the familiar items that are used to construct the world of this mouse family. You can't read this book without sharing giggles and hugs along with Little Brownmouse and her mother.
