A book that will help heal

This is a book that can open up the door for those needing to let out the pain of abuse. It is also a good book for those living and loving a person that has been abused. It is difficult to understand how sexual abuse can affect a young girls perception of herself as a woman, unless you have been there. This book helps those outside of that experience to have a glimpse of the pain that is inside. I would recommend this book to anyone needing to heal or needing to understand.

One of the best on the subject

I purchased this book for my teenage daughter who is struggling with this issue. It took her about 8 or 9 months to pick it up and read. I actually read it first and I must say it is one of the best on the subject and I have read several. I am just now working through my issues from being sexually abused over 35 years ago. This covers so much that survivors deal with & not just teenage survivors. This book earns more than 5 stars.

You will know you are not alone

There are very few books on sexual abuse by twenty-something women who have actually experienced abuse, so I've often felt like I was the only person my age who experienced it. For years I've been lying to myself about my past, and this book not only helped me come to terms with my molestation but also opened up a few discussions with my family and friends. Sexual abuse carries so many stigmas that it seems like no one will talk about it. Ms. Sands is unbelievably brave, displaying her hearbreak and slow healing to her readers so we can know that we are not alone. I cannot thank her enough for opening her heart like that. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
