Pages in this book were loose and need to be reattached

I received this book in a timely fashion but pages of the book were loose. Usually the quality of your books is better. What changed!? I don’t think I can order from you again

This is one of my favorite books.

My original book I got when it was first released. I had made over a dozen afghans when it got lost in a move across town in '99. It is a great joy to find this book again. I learned to knit in the mid 50's and I was an expert knitter by '74, but I keep reminding myself that I can always learn something new, and it's always good to go back to the basics.

Great Book

This book is an education all in itself. Not only will you be able to make a beautiful blanket, but you will learn just about everything there is to knitting at the same time. It starts by teaching the very basics, and then goes on to the squares. These get harder as you progress through the book. The method taught is continental. This book isn't just for beginners, though. I am an intermediate knitter and there are things in here that I have not done. I also knit American, but once you get past the beginner instructions, this makes no difference in knitting the squares. All the instructions are in written form, not charts. This was a big plus to me, as I do not like knitting from charts. A great addition to your knitting library.

Awesome Book!!

I bought this book probably 25 years ago when I was in college and made the afghan twice in two different color schemes. I still have those afghans to this day! I had never knitted before this book, and found the instructions clear and easy to understand. About 10 years ago I showed this book to a woman I worked with. She couldn't find a copy to purchase, so she copied each page, a few each day, at work.

Practical learning

For many years I tried unsuccessfully to learn to knit. Then I found Ms. Walker's Learn to Knit Afghan Book in a craft book club. The method she teaches holds the yarn the European way, which keeps the learner from having to throw the yarn with the right hand, risking dropped stitches. The format of the book gives large pictures of each pattern with explicit and well-defined instructions. The pattern difficulty graduates from simple to amazingly difficult, each pattern making its own afghan square. My son still has the afghan I made with this book 20 years ago, and I want to make one for me now to review these stitches. However, I loaned my copy and the borrower got carried away with it. Now, that's a wonderful book--worth taking! (or giving or receiving)
