Langenscheidt's Pocket Dictionary Vietnamese

Folks, I love this dictionary ... my Vietnamese friends love it... What else can I say. I am traveling to Saigon for the first time in 35 years. This book will come with me (actually, 1 of my 2 copies..hehe).

I would recommend to those who want to be able to communicate or understanding the meaning of English speaker or Vietnamese speaker then you would want to buy this pocket dictionary. Because it provides detail guideline, explanation to the meaning, useful tool for everyday language. The great part about Langenscheidt editions also available other languages such as chinese, japanese, spanish, french, latin, english, etc...

I bought this book for my Vietnamese class and it is excellent. The definitions are clear, and provide a wide range of options for translation. This is good, because languages aren't just word codes, and all these options help to give the true meaning of a word. In the Vietnamese-English part, the entries are extensive and offer cultural and grammatical insights.Also, I was baffled on how to pronounce a final 'nh' and this dictionary helped me to do it correctly and easily.It is easy to carry around, durable, and flexible. It was very helpful to me during my studies; I highly recommend it.

I have been looking for a good Vietnamese dictionary for a long time, and have finally found it in Langenscheidt's Vietnamese dictionary. This dictionary has the benefit of both northern and southern pronunciation, which is rare due to the fact that most textbooks and dictionaries only give the northern pronunciation. If you are studying Vietnamese, do yourself a favor and buy this book.
