The new edition of the acclaimed bestseller, always praised for offering cutting edge material in the context of landmark experiments, in a student friendly format built on pedagogy not usually found in immunology texts.
As an undergraduate studying molecular biology, I had little experience in the field of Immunology when I signed up to take a course in it. As I progressed through the course, I realized why my professor had chosen to use this book as the class text. This textbook is very well written, well illustrated, efficiently organized, and the study guides and self-tests at the end of each chapter are great study tools. I recommend this book to anyone taking a course in Immunology for the first time. If a person is familiar with immunology and is looking for a reference book, I would suggest "Fundamental Immunology" Instead.
Yes, Very good book!

It's easy to read, easy to understand, very good graphics; Kuby is a very friendly book for new students, and for refreshing many concepts if you are very busy (and I bet you are!). I love it. But if you have more time available for reading, I would recommend Fundamental Immunology (Paul) and Cellular and Molecular Immunology by Abbas. Anyway, never trust in just one book. And try to keep up-to-date with new material on scientific magazines. See, in research you don't depend on books, that's only at the beginning or if you have to refresh some concepts. Once you have your knowledge, you will be reading papers on scientific magazines and less books. Many times, the concepts you have learned on books can change very fast. Science is a dynamic field, always changing. Always remember that. I wish you good luck in your career! MSc. Ana Laura Fazio-Kroll Immunology - Biochemist

This text is a required reading at UC Berkeley - it is very thorough and detailed oriented. It has come complexities as well, thus a course in Biochemistry/Org.Chem and/or Genetics can be helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone who wish to study advance Immuno first hand.
Strong text

I have Roitt's Immunology and Janeway's Immunobiology at my disposal as well, but neither presents material as simply and clearly as Kuby Immunology. The strength of the book is largely in the fantastic illustrations. The generic illustrations supplemented with large blocks of staid text one finds in other immunology books can't even begin to compare. Concentrated study of the figures in this book elucidates many concepts that seem difficult to describe otherwise.Additionally, the book is divided up into many short chapters on subjects like B and T cell maturation, hypersensitivity, the T-cell receptor, etc. The superb organization is logical and easy to follow, making review and independent study a pleasure. There's certainly more advanced books on specific topics, but Kuby Immunology is a great starter and basic reference.
It is a great book

I really love this book. The author knows what immunology is and expresses her knowledge nicely. It also help me a lot in my class and my comprehensive examination. I really recommend anyone who wants to know basic immunology read this book. You will not regret.
