Guideposts Know the Bible in 30 Days

We're using this as a Sunday School lesson book, only we're getting to know the Bible in 30 WEEKS. Everyone loves it. The teacher usually adds a little supplemental material. When we described the book in an insert in our church bulletin, lots of people who have never attended Sunday School signed up. So our class is about twice what it used to be. The book is well written and easy to read and has just enough background information.

Title misleading, but you can use this to fill in the blanks. Informative about the living conditions and family relations of the bible.

I picked this book to read because I had grown up as a Christian, and yet I didn't grow up really within the church. We were really in and out of church so many of the stories of the Bible I never learned. I would grow frustrated as an adult when people would talk about certain stories and I wasn't really sure about them. I have read the Bible, but sometimes it is easy to get lost in the details and lose sight of the overall story and lessons that the Bible holds on a basic level. This book was really helpful. It provided and easy to understand (without being condescending) outline. It was really like reading an interesting story. The author does a good job of sharing these stories in an easy to understand way. I also enjoy the questions the author asks as well as the Bible passages that correspond to that days reading. It is helpful that the author not only tells the story, but also has you read the story in the Bible as well. It is in chronological order too which is wonderful. I want the story to unfold for me, and it does it by using this format.
