I've always been a fan of Ariel's big sisters, but aside from the first and third movies and the occasional TV episode, I hadn't seen much of them. Then, I found these books. All seven of the sisters are featured equally. Their antics are well thought-out and quite engaging. I found these books easy to read and captivating even though I am over 20 instead of just 12. Fun stories with fantastic characters. And the occasional pictures are very pretty, although lacking color. Each of the girls has a definite personality; it was a little difficult for me to distinguish between Attina and Aquata at first, but I eventually got straightened out. There might be some continuity issues regarding the movies and TV show, but don't worry about it, it's nothing big. The sisters go to a carnival and get their fortunes told by an old mystic, but she also warns them of a possible attack on their father. The girls decide that they have to warn their dad, but he doesn't believe them, so they infiltrate the circus themselves to try and prevent a disaster.
