His Name Will Always Strike Fear

At times a bit confusing, but this story of the legendary Kilkenny is a must read. It garners all that make up a good western story in one package. Old man Tetlow was all of the range and one man is stopping him--Kilkenny. So, Kilkenny must be killed. What makes this book confusing is that there are two other "Kilkenny" books and the time frames sometimes overlap. Still, all and all this is a good book.

Magnificent story

A magnificent western, the second of the trilogy whose hero Kilkenny, the lone cowboy, boxer, shooter exception to the general heart. Louis L'Amour is a talented storyteller of the mythical time of the founding of the United States of America.

best damn book i ever read!

seriously, the kilkenny trilogy is some of the best damn western stories you'll ever read. anyone who digs the western genre needs to check these books out!

L'AMOUR AT HIS BEST

Louis L'Amour is probably the best western fiction writer though he has Jonas Kirby nibbing at his heels. "Kilkenny" is another top-notch book with all of the standard L'Amour recipe included to keep the readers attention. It is not a unique story, yet, it is fresh because L'Amour had a talent for writing about similar situations and places, while making the novels different and interesting.

Kilkenny--top notch afternoon's read

Howdy folks--James Drury here. You might remember me from TV's the Virginian. I've done some other reviews on some of Louis L'Amour's stuff, and I don't know if these ever get used, but I wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've been reading Kirby Jonas's Westerns on audio tape lately and have enjoyed them so thoroughly because, frankly, they reminded me of Louis L'Amour's style. Kirby admits he grew up on Louis L'Amour, so I guess that explains it. And by the way, if you run out of Louis L'Amours and want to give someone else a shot, try one of Kirby's. You won't regret it. But back to Kilkenny, it is a fast-paced surefire way to get your afternoon, evening, or even your morning in gear, and a thoroughly entertaining way to spend an afternoon on a deer stand!

One of the Best from L'Amour

After Bendigo Shafter and Sacket's storys I like Kilkenny's storys best. Recommend to all L'Amour fans
