Kaplan OAT

No review book is going to be perfect, because all of them lack the ability to relay the "Oh, crap!" feeling you get as soon as you sit down for the actual OAT. This book has a long introduction, but it is filled with good tips on how to best handle the test. I took the OAT twice, and after using this book, my score went up 30 points the second time. Which, if you know anything about optometry admissions, you know that a difference of 30 points can make or break your chances of getting an interview. The book is not a cure-all substitution for hard core preparation. But if you feel you need extra tips for handling the test, or an extra shot at reviewing past questions, then this is the book for you.

Excellent way to study for your OAT. The best thing about this book is that every single study question has a DETAILED explaination of the correct answer in the answer key section. Extremely helpful when you don't know why an answer is right! I highly, highly recommend this practice book.

This book is great for getting practice problems and a few test taking tips but that is about it. I have a couple of friends that bought the Kaplan book for the DAT and it is this huge, couple hundred page novel. I thought this would be the same, unfortunately I was wrong. This book is only pratice problems and tests. It does give descent explanations for the answers but that is about all you get.

The item it a used book, but in very good condition. Very little, if any, noticeable damage. Still as good as new.

Must buy for Optometry Admission Test(OAT). Book has excellent sections on chemistry, organic chemistry, and biology. I also would study a good biology textbook like Campbell's biology and a good study guide like The Ultimate Study Guide for Biology: Key Review Questions and Answers with Explanations by Patrick Leonardi..Volume1, Volume 2 & Volume 3. These study guides had fantastic questions that were helpful for studying for the biology segment of the OAT.
