Book Overview

When a single mom and aspiring actress ends up on an important jury, she must team up with an FBI agent to hunt down a vicious and powerful mob boss.
Andie DeGrasse is not your typical juror. Hoping to get dismissed from the pool, she tells the judge that most of her legal knowledge comes from a bit part curling around a stripper's pole in The Sopranos. But she still ends up as juror #11 in a landmark trial against a notorious mob...

James Patterson doesn't disappoint!

I was looking for a new hobby. Who knew it would be reading? Diana

Well Done thriller

A fast paced mystery book that will keep a reader's attention from beginning to end. Good writing, interesting plot, and all the necessary twists and turns and suspense that makes a engaging thriller fun to read.

Great book!

James Patterson did a great job as usual. I was throughly involved in this one all through the book. I finished it last night...could not stop reading. 1 AM snuck up on me!

The Old James Patterson is Evident Here!

This was a terrific read! I have read all of JP's work and in past reviews I have come down hard on him for "cranking out" some mediocre work, however, this piece finds him back to his earlier masterful writing. We have a great plot here with some very cool characters whom we get to know relatively well. I loved the ending, it was a good solid ending and not as unbelievable as that last one he wrote for "Beach Road." Welcome back Jimmy. I can't wait to get to "Cross." Every once in a while....perfection!

Oh, this was a grabber. Nothing's missing in this thrill a minute saga - which has been voted "the book I most enjoyed while staying in Barbara's guest room." Two guests now have been up all night reading "Judge and Jury". It's featured prominently on my guest room book shelf with a strong recommendation that if they want to read a good yarn, this is it. Although everyone reports favorably on the book, it does make for some pretty droopy-eyed siteseeing the next day. I loved the premise of this one - felt I knew the characters, and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Ushuaia. I never knew what the end of the world was like, but now I feel I've been there. As a writer myself, I marvel at James Patterson's output. I guess if he experiences writer's block, he just says, "Here, Andrew, you write for a while." Whatever the procedure, they hit an ace with this one. And, what's really great is that while I'm still riding the crest of the wave on Judge and Jury, the news reports another new book about to be launched - "Cross". I can't wait!

Patterson Does it Again (with A. Gross)

One thing about James Patterson....He's not Mr. Nice Guy (as a writer). I have to remind myself that these are works of fiction and that the characters are not real. He keeps his thrill-level and my adrenalin high, and makes sure to throw in enough surprises to keep me guessing and reading on (in my case, listening on). As an Alex Cross and Women's Murder Club fan, I am pleased with this book, and constantly wonder how this man can keep turning out great stories in addition to his "usual" series'. Let's give this four-and-a-half stars, as his series works are still top notch in my book; but this comes pretty close!
