What joy Nicholas brings

I will base my review on all the Nicholas books, not just Nicholas in Trouble. I first read Nicholas when I was a child. Thirty years later, I've read them again. I related to Nicholas when I was younger, and now I relate to the parents, being a parent myself. The stories are even funnier now that I can see the parent's perspective. You have to have the right frame of reference as to when and where these stories are written; even then, these are hilarious. I let my 9-year-old read them, and we both laugh at the things Nicholas does. (I just have to have a talk with him after he reads, as to what is right and what is wrong, but even then, the stories are pretty innocent.) These books are beautifully bound, the illustrations are Sempe's original, and the pages are nice and substantial. Wonderful books and stories.

Petit Nicolas- great for French students!

I love these short tales of the comical trials and tribulations of Petit Nicolas. They are great for those learning French; I try to read one a day, just to keep my French up. They are not too difficult, but one can pick up new vocabulary and phrasing.

Excellent!

Le petit Nicolas is the French version of Calvin and Hobbes, only not written in comic strip. It's a wonderful book every one in the French speaking world should read (at least one of the collection).

nice book

nice book; very good condition; The language isn't too difficult for a middle-range French speaker. This one is good to take on a plane when there's nothing to do. Good time to brush up.

Super et facile lire. C'est bon les etudiants de francais.

I first came across the Petit Nicolas stories while in French IV. All the people in my class, including me, greatly enjoyed these stories. They are true classics. While easy to read, they give the reader an acute sense of how French is actually used - in context. the tales are engaging and Petit Nicolas acts and thinks so much like all little kids that any cultural differences displayed in the book are easily understood through his eyes. I greatly enjoy these books, especially this one, and highly recommend them to everyone who wishes to read in French. They are not only for children and learners of French, they are for anyone no matter what their age and ability in French. A very good buy!
