Jewish People & Sac Script:

This is an excellent and informative document that details the Catholic Church's position on Sacred Scripture and the Jews. I recommend it for persons of all denominations since it clears up misinterpretations and confusion concerning the Catholic Church and the Jewish people. It reinforces the importance the Jews played in Sacred Scripture and invites dialog and understanding to address any confusion. After I paid $50.00 for a book that retailed for about $7-$10 (I could not find it anywhere), I did finally find that I could have downloaded it free. I needed the book but it was a shame that I had to be "gouged" by the dealer. I guess that's supply and demand.

Here the Pontifical Biblical Commission superbly lays out the foundation of our first covenant with God, as witnessed by the Jewish people. Here we can understand the background of the Old Testament and how relevant our elder brothers are in our process of theological revelation with our Lord. Any person who takes the time to read this document cannot help but come away with a closer, more intimate feeling toward our Jewish brother. Any scripture student, of the Old or New is encouraged to read this document as a preface to in-depth comprehension of the Word.
