Jesus Loves Me Lullabies and Prayers

I have read this book to my 5 month old son since the night he came home from the hospital. Now, as soon as I read the first line on the first page every night, he instantly recognizes it and it brings a huge smile to his face along with a shrill or coo of excitement. He'll sing along for the first two or three lullabies, watches my lips while I read a prayer or two, and then falls asleep. The book flows nicely & I sometimes find myself yawning after reading the last good night blessing. I'm delighted he enjoys this book so much and elated that it is a beautiful introduction to God's love at the same time. It offers a wonderful & comforting message while providing him with the rhthym and rhyme babies love so much. My 4 year old stepson doesn't mind when he's told "it's bedtime". He'll simply jump in bed next to his brother and I in antipation of reading "Jesus Loves Me", insists that I sing ALL of the lullabies and makes sure to ask, "and who's book in the Bible was from?" referring to the verse on each page. ("A Day with Daddy" is his absolute favorite!) The rhyming also assists & prepares preschoolers for their soon-to-come challenge of reading. And who better to help them prepare than Jesus? This book puts a smile on children's faces as they close their eyes and can almost guarantee sweet dreams! I know I'll be reading it for years to come but by then I'm sure I will have memorized them all. Daddy even enjoys joining in by singing along and repeating some lines! God Bless!

This is a wonderful book to read from when putting young children to bed. The poems and songs reinforce God's love for children. What a great thought to have in your mind as you fall asleep! The songs are set to familiar melodies and the first bar of music printed to help parents recall forgotten melodies. A related Bible verse is given with each poem and song. I had many discussions with my toddler daughter about God's love and presence in our everyday living as we read from this book.
