JESUS career Counselor

Exploring the 12 dreams God has for each of us, this book shows readers how to get, find and keep the work they love." Laurie Beth Jones presents a very creative way of assessing personality types, fire, water, earth and wind. She also has created a perfect roadmap to discovering our mission, identifying our communication styles, creating a vision for our lives that brings us joy and contributes to the needs of the world, and then building a career path on that foundation. Her book is easy to read, embraces all types of work, and teaches us how to find our meaningful work. This book comes at a perfect time, as so many people are out of a job. Jones challenges us as readers to not just move on to the next job because it's what we've always done, but instead to seek what it is we are called to do. All the rest is drama and illusion, entertainment, training exercises, and moments preparing me for eternity. That is a perspective that leads one to be able to change more easily and it's certainly upbeat and encouraging. This book was sent to me free for review from FSB Associates.

Fresh Focus on Your Life's Work!

Laurie Beth Jones has given readers a career guide that gives us permission to view our life's work from the perspective of living out our vocation and calling. Her writings call for a deeper reflection of our life's purpose with serious considerations about topics such as life balance, renewal, and perspective. As someone who is experiencing a mid-life re-evaluation of my career and determining how I want it to look in the future, this book gave me permission to be thoughtful, reflective, and challenged all at the same time. Bravo Laurie Beth for another dymanic book!

A Timely Message

This book comes at a perfect time, as so many people are out of a job. Jones challenges us as readers to not just move on to the next job because it's what we've always done, but instead to seek what it is we are called to do. The good news is that when we pursue what we were called to do, there we will find fulfillment and joy in our work. We will, in fact, never really be unemployed! I have read several of Laurie Beth Jones's books, and this is one of her very best. It is engaging, insightful and personally challenging."

Jesus: career counselor

I've read most of what Laurie Beth Jones has written and I think this is one of her most vauluable contributions. Every counselor, pastor, parent or partner would be wise to put this book in the hands of the sincere seeker of career advancement. The right questions are addressed for giving guidance in discovering a joyfull and sustainable career path.

Great Tools and Tips

Laurie Beth Jones has done it again. This book provides tools, tips and resources for any one in the workplace. This is not just a book about how to find a job. It is a book about how to connect to your "Vocation-your calling from God". Laurie Beth weaves Biblical truths and common sense application to help readers connect to the different aspects of work. She uses the Elements of Fire, Water, Earth and Wind to walk through the 12 Dreams of the Holy Spirit which inspired her to write this book. Fulfilling the Holy Spirit's dream for your life is were our true vocation lies. It is where we as human beings finally find our fulfillment. It is how we receive the opportunity to experience a little heaven on earth. My favorite passage from the book comes from Chapter Twelve- REJOICE, page 223. "If we've offered ourselves to our Creator and given all of ourselves to him, even our work, then our work is to be done as something we promised we'd do in his honor. We must remember that we are doing our work as an oath and a prayer to God."
