James Herriot's Treasury for Children

The story is great! I love all of Ja.es Hrtiots books

I enjoyed the stories in this book growing up and have loved introducing them to my kids too. Sweet Short stories written easy to understand but with some 'bigger' words to really add to the visual.

Wonderfully written Childrens stories. A book you can read to the grandchildren.

I love reading this book out loud to my 5 and 3 year olds. The pictures are captivating and the text beautiful and uplifting.

My daughter loves this book! She's four and has a good amount of patience for longer stories. If your child prefers shorter stories, save this one til they're a bit older.

The illustrations are lovely; one can look at them as art for hours. The stories are down to earth and remind the reader that life is hard yet beautiful.

A very sweet collection of stories. One of my all time favorites. James Herriot tells about the trials and triumphs of the life of a country vet and brings out the joys and happiness in his life.

My children and I cuddle under a warm blanket and read these stories over and over. You'll laugh and cry. Everyone should have this book!

Over the years, I have thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Herriot's wonderful stories. When I found this book for my 7 year old daughter, I wasn't sure if she'd be able to follow along. What makes this book stand out is the fabulous drawings--they are full paged drawings, with not too much writing on each page. Each drawing is very detailed, perfectly matched to the accompanying text. I can't get over the talented illustrators (this book has two different ones, although the drawings are similar in appearance). I've loved re-reading these familiar stories and sharing them. This is one of the best books we've read this year, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it for a permanent library collection.
