Good Read

Back Cover: Jack Riordan was gorgeous and a real man. However, Rachel had her fears about her husband: They'd grown so far apart since they'd failed to have a child. But a real man needed a real woman - and Rachel was determined to win him back. She would seduce him, and let him love her. And maybe she'd conceive and carry to full term Jack's much wanted baby. This book was a good read. THe reason I gave it Four stars was because I couldnt believe that Rachel didnt want the woman arrested after she tried to kill her.

A chance worth taking!

I had doubts about purchasing this book. There weren't any reviews and the excerpt I read was basically: After several miscarriages the woman she believes to be her husband Jack's mistress, Karen, pays Rachel a visit. Karen says she is pregnant with Jack's baby. Something which, she points out, Rachel is obviously not capable of giving him. She also tells Rachel that Jack wants a divorce. I've found, from past experience, Anne Mather's "heroes" can be real jerks. But I figured if I bought the book and Jack turned out to be the jerk he sounded like I had no one to blame but myself. I was pleasantly surprised. The real story in this book was that of two people who loved each other deeply and wanted to have a child together. Each thought the other had to have a baby to make them happy. Sadly, they didn't communicate this to each other which led to a complete misunderstanding. Enter a slightly unbalanced and delusional woman and they almost lost everything. My nephew and his wife tried for years to have a baby. After four miscarriages and two surgeries she finally gave birth to Gabriel, our miracle baby. I saw the heartache and disappointment they suffered over the years and I saw the same with Jack and Rachel. Fortunately, in both cases the love of two people for each other was strong enough to survive anything. I would definitely recommend this book.
