A witty, sensitive read

Okay, I admit it, I'm hooked on Karen Kendall books. I know when I pick up one of her stories I'm going to find entertaining characters, intriguing plots, and outrageous turns of phrase that keep me smiling long after I've turned the last page. In 'I've Got You Babe,' strait-laced art history professor Vanessa Tower finds herself manipulated into teaching the grandson of a famous artist about his grandfather's work. The grandson,"Crash" Dunmoor, has spent much of his life, climbing, kayaking, and parachuting out of planes--anything to avoid the legacy of his grandfather. There's lots of witty fun in this story of two very different people forced to work together. But there's also a great deal of depth and intelligence in the characters, their issues, and the increasing attraction between them. Terrific!

Fun and Sexy

Prim and proper professor Vanessa learns to take walk on the wild side with "Crash" Dunmoor and finds true love. This is a book for everyone who loves to laugh and cry and fall in love. Ms.Kendall delivers a great read with humor and heart. Buy it today!

Another winner from author Karen Kendall

Karen Kendall shines yet again in I'VE GOT YOU BABE. This author knows how to make you laugh out loud while at the same time say awwww over the really sweet and poignant ways her very disparate characters discover themselves and each other."Crash" is a hunk to die for, and Vanessa the kind of woman we all wish we could be. Definitely two people (and a book) you don't want to miss.I'm eagerly anticipating Ms. Kendall's next book.

I'd take the Crash Test any day...

Karen Kendall's third book packs a wallop. Tightly-laced art historian Vanessa Tower has no idea what she's in for when she approaches tightly-built Crash Dunmoor with what seems like a simple request. But Dr. Tower learns pretty quickly she isn't going to pass this Crash Test without some serious damage to her heart. He's hard, he's tough and he has a well-insulated heart, but Vanessa knows all about the latter because she has one, too. As usual, Ms. Kendall's writing is clean and clear as she reaches out and grabs the reader's heart and mind. She writes knowledgably about art history and art interpretation, subjects that are over the head of a lot of people (like this reviewer) and makes the subject matter interesting and accessible. And, of course, she delivers one-liners that had me giggling out loud. I'll never be able to look at hens quite the same way.... The bottom line is ... buy this book. You won't be disappointed. And Ms. Kendall, if you ever read this, ... KEEP WRITING!!

amusing yet serious relationship drama

Seymour College Professor of Art History Dr. Vanessa Tower drives up the Massachusetts mountain to talk with Christopher "Crash" Dunmoor at the request of his grandmother, whom she met while studying the paintings of his late grandfather. Crash refuses to speak with his unwanted visitor, but she follows him to the rooftop of his house. As the last Dunmoor, grandma wants Crash to take responsibility for his grandfather's works valued at 2.6 million. He rejects everything she says until Vanessa tells him his grandma has colon cancer. His grandma wants the estrangement between her and Crash ended before she dies and sees the staid Vanessa as the tool. She informs her grandson and Seymour College that his grandfather's works will go to him only if he attends Vanessa's art history class and aces the course. Not going, any lower grade or dropping out means the college obtains the collection. With pressure from her boss to see that her newest student crashes, Vanessa finds she wants him to inherit while willing to skydive and join him on all his other reverie of kicks.Fans of amusing yet serious relationship dramas will delight in Karen Kendall's I'VE GOT YOU BABE. The story line uses light moments notably when prim Vanessa joins Crash on his stunts to reduce the tension from the conflict between the lead male protagonist and his family. That technique turns into a two-edge sword, as readers will chuckle at Vanessa's discomfit, but also takes away from the estrangement subplot. Still this is a strong tale that the audience will enjoy.Harriet Klausner
