This book is a groundbreaking contribution to the study of the UFO enigma, originally published over 30 years ago. In this book, Sanderson, a renowned zoologist with a keen interest in the paranormal, puts forward the curious theory that e oeOINTS"-Other Intelligences-live under the Earthe (TM)s oceans. Cool Topic - Never Knew

This book sheds light on a subject that I was not very familiar with regarding underwater ufo's. It is very interesting and a great amount of material about underwater ufo's. I recommend this book. Good bedtime book to read.

true skeptic

Be it mokele mbembe, oreng pendek, singing stones or, in this case, aquatic ufo's, Sanderson is able to rise to the occasion. His style is always crisp, a bit pedantic, borderline witty/balmy and consumately entertaining. Is there a technologically advanced society at the bottom of earth's hydrosphere? If so, is it in any way connected to the Bermuda Triangle and other maritime mysteries? I have all Of Ivan Sanderson's books and with delight I assure readers not one of his mystery subjects has been verified as absolute fact. He was the best of true skeptics in that he never completely felt that something simply could not be. Buy this books and not only will you learn some interesting/diquieting things, you'll read some damn good stories.

IMPORTANT BOOK

This is thought provoking look at an unusual and little known phenomena. Ivan T. Sanderson did a great job of research and presentation here.

Great easy to read documented report filled book

I have no idea why the first reviewer stated that this book is confusing and padded. I found it very easy to understand and follow not to mention highly informative and eye opening. Great book for people with the courage to look at fact filled official reports from around the world written for the most part by the worlds navies high command. It also digs up newspaper reports of strange underwater sightings and radar trackings of otherworldly USOs that uncharacteristically leaked out to the worlds press. An excellent essay for the open minded intelligent person who understands that there is much more to be added to our limited human understanding of the world and it's mysteries. The content of this book is much more important & vastly out weights any misgivings one might have with writing style.

Outrageous!

I've read the first page to a multitude of people and they simply don't know what to say. It starts off in the South Atlantic Ocean in Admiralty Bay with US Navy's "Operation Deep Freeze" with a "something" that "suddenly came roaring up out of the sea through no less than 37 feet of ice, and went on up into the sky like a vast silvery bullet(!)"I've read the first two chapter 3 times now and maybe after finishing this book report, I can get on to the other chapters. The is jammed packed with late 1960's open-minded research and questions that begged explainations. Another great quote comes with the usual footnotes on page 14. "Why should a Navy man know that a ridge 50 miles long by 15 miles wide rose 2 1/4 miles overnite in the South Atlantic in 1924? Ridiculous! This was of concern only to the cable companies." Enjoy!...
