This is an excellent book on investment clubs. It covers topics such as starting an investment club, running an investment club, and finding the right investment approach. People join investment clubs because they want to learn about investing and also want help in seeing their investment dollars grow. Besides presenting benefits of investment clubs, the authors also present the negative side to investment clubs and how to deal with them. For example, some members may be difficult to deal with, others may not want to do their share of work, or they might lose interest. For those who are interested in joining an investment club, this book is not a requirement, but for those who are planning to start an investment club, it is. - Mariusz Skonieczny, author of Why Are We So Clueless about the Stock Market? As usual with the 'For Dummies' books, this one takes it easy. You can read it pretty quickly, it starts out quite simply and builds slowly. You don't think you're getting as much information as you are until you've finished. Again as usual, this book is written by a couple of people who combine personal experience with a casual relaxed writing style. (For what it's worth, I've tried writing like this and it isn't easy.) Most of us thinking about investment clubs already have some investing experience and think that we might be able to teach the club a lot. Most of us learn that the other people in the club can teach us a lot. Investment clubs attract the advanced amateur who bring specialized knowledge, their own experience, and above all enough questions that you might have forgotten to ask to make it well worth your while. Great Way to Get Started.

In the past, I have considered investment clubs to be an interesting idea. But it wasn't until I started reading Investment Club for Dummies that I seriously considered starting an investment club with a group of people.Doug Gerlach and Angele McQuade have done such a good job with this interesting, motivational book that you want to just jump in and follow their lead. Their instructions on planning, setting up, and keeping an investment club alive seem really "do-able" and worthy of our consideration.As with other "Dummies" books, this one is simple, instructional and fun to read - even if you're not planning on joining an investment club. Along with investment club information, you will surely absorb a good measure of facts about investing in general. And, really, which one of us knows too much about investing?
