My kids and I loved this book. It is full of great short stories. It would be a great book for a reluctant reader because the stories are so short. The reader can have many short, entertaining reading sessions without the chance of getting bored. While camping this past weekend my son retold many of stories from this book while we were sitting around the campfire. They really are great spooky campfire stories!

In the book Invasion of the Road Weenies David Lumber tells scary stories to scare the readers and get them excited about what's going to happen. This book is fiction book so the kids who like fiction books should read this amazing book. I like this book because its fiction and it get me to visualizes what's happening in the story. There are all sorts of stories in this book like the " TANK" or "COPIES". In the "Tank" this kid saw ripples in the water and was wondering why there was ripples in the water. And in "Copies" these boys go to work with there father and finds a copier and puts there face on it and copies one thousand copies and they come out with out a face. David Lubar strikes again with Invasion Of The Road Weenies, a book with a lot of funny stories. Two of my favorite stories were "The Dead Won't Hurt You" and "A Little Night Fishing." They are all good stories. They are not that long, but they are exciting. David Lubar is a good writer. He had a lot of good books like Wizard Of The Game and Road Weenies 2#. They are really funny too. He was born in Morristown, New Jersey in 1954. He likes computer magazines. He lives in Oakwood PA. He got 2 awards for his books I give this book a ***** rating!!!!

So this is Lubar's second short story collection. Again, expect youth-centered motivations and scenarios and equally kid-centered death and destruction. Each and every story is completely different, no Goosebumpesque cookie-cutting here. I read these stories to little kids, I'm a teacher, and it's great to see their jaws drop and their eyes pop open. Mr. Lubar pushes limits and one way that he accomplishes this is by using the device of ending right before the inevitably gory conclusion. This leads to some angry children when I read the stories, but the anger is due to their passion and attachment to the stories.**One slight point though. In The Land of the Lawn Weenies most of the bad happenings took the form of a comeuppance on some naughty kid, ya know, a moral tale. Not so with Road Weenies, the catastrophe and mayhem is 100% morally indifferent, I'm not sure if I like that as much.**
