Introverted Mom: Your Guide to More Calm, Less Guilt, and Quiet Joy

The old quote about friendships being created when two people have a "You too? I thought I was the only one" moment was exactly how I felt while reading Jamie C. Martin's Intoverted Mom. Over and over again, I nodded, highlighted, and read passages aloud to my husband. I'm not the only one! Not only an encouragement; this book has been a validation that my feelings and tendencies to overwhelm easily are REAL. I've been a highly sensitive introvert my whole life, but only recently am learning about personality types. The Introverted Mom has completely opened my eyes about so many aspects of my parenting, my marriage, and my life--from accepting, even cherishing, my introvertedness to identifying stressors, and stretching my comfort zone. As a homeschool mom, my whole life sometimes feels like a social event, and Jamie's tips for self-care and reflections have proven invaluable to me. Her snippets highlighting introverted literary heroines were fun and encouraging. The chapter about faith and (gasp!) evangelism as an introvert is solid. I am positive that this book will a reread over and over for me. Highly recommend for introverted mommas and their husbands!
