This book offers keys for building meaningful relationships, overcoming depression, working toward closer fellowship with God, and tools for waging our spiritual battles. First, one of the things that helps Christians to stay grounded in the Word of God are practical life lessons and devotional meditations. This book stands in a series of good devotionals that should compel us to closer contemplation and study of God's Word. One of the downsides I find on the Christian walk, as a sinner saved by God's grace, is that even when one diligently tries, one might be cast down as being holier than thou, or self-righteous. In fact, we maybe really trying to do what we ought to be doing. So, how does one keep on going without discouragement? How does one recoup when one takes a spiritual nosedive? Simply by revisiting God's Word. A daily devotional keeps us focused in that study. Because Stanley's message is so richly ingrained in Scripture, it should both humble us and encourage us. The Apostle Paul all the time admitted that he was a sinner, and sometimes did what the Holy Spirit did not perfectly will for his life. By grounding ourselves in the Word, we can overcome adversity and establish a more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. Realizing how much pride afflicts our life gives us cause to uproot the little leaven of sin, and Charles Stanley's devotionals give us the tools for such spiritual battles. Charles Stanley of InTouch Ministries is to be commended for his resourceful and didactic teaching style.

Charles Stanley is the man. All of his books are well written. This book really encourages you to go in the fear and admonition of the Lord with strength and power.

I am very pleased with my copy of this devotional book. This book gives God's perspective on everyday situations and problems in a refreshing and renewing light. It gives practical, Godly advice, which is very hard to find. I have never come across a better daily devotional than this one. It will really bless your spiritial life and relationship w/the Lord.
