An edge of your seat thriller you just can't put down.

This is one of those books that is just too hard to put down. Thankfully for me, I need these types of books because I read while on the treadmill at the gym. I got some very long workouts in while finishing this one off! Mark Taylor, the lead character, is an ex-marine now working for a television show in LA. One day he gets a call to interview the number one terrorist on the world. (A fictional character based on Osama Bin Laden) In 24 hours he has to fly around the world and into Syria to interview this man. At once he is approached by the CIA. If they can infiltrate his crew they may have a shot to take out the terrorist and save lives. Mark has to decide if he will risk his life to go along with their plan, and at the same time lose his career as a journalist. That very evening his wife gets some news that cannot wait - and will change his life. All of this is just in the first couple of chapters. The book is written in real time, quickly jumping back and forth from America and Syria. What was a bit surreal was to be reading it and then glancing up at the TV sets and seeing "war on terror" scrolling across the bottom of CNN. The book is fast paced, and non-stop. On top of the thriller aspects and the suspense are the heart of the theological issues behind the Islamic Jihad against the west. This one is a great story. You may find it a bit too contrived in moments, but will likely be too caught up in the story to notice. Highly recommended, just be sure you have some time to finish it once you pick it up.

Absolutely Awesome!!!

I love this book! It is really good. I started reading it as soon as I bought it, and I could not put it down. It was really exciting, which says a lot because there's not many books I consider "exciting". I do reccomend this book to everyone, it's suspenseful but it is also thought-provoking. It takes you into what Islam is about. Also technically speaking, it seemed really accurate from my limited amount of knowledge about such things concerning the U.S. marines, the bombs, the CIA, and the FBI. I think this is great book and well worth the money.

Wow, Wow, Wow!

I inhaled this book! I'm one of those readers who finds it all too easy to put books down. This one must have had super glue on the cover because I found it in my hands all day long! Jacobsen's research in weaponry, espionage, the military and Islam is astounding. Islam has always seemed so mysterious to me and I've known little about it other than turbans and beards and women taking small steps in their swathing garments. Clay opened my eyes in many ways regarding this growing world religion. So much is at stake in Interview With the Devil, you wonder how could Jacobsen possibly fit this together? But he does, with well-developed characters and breathtaking suspense.

Riveting

I read this book almost a month ago - and I'm still thinking aout it. Clay does a wonderful job of educating his readers on the subject of Islam, yet without it being "teachy". The balance of Truth and error is exhibited throughout the book by the characters' action. You're left pondering how strong your faith really is if ever challenged as Mark was. Great read.

Absolutely, unequivocally the best Christian fiction!

I loved the Left Behind series, and thought it couldn't be topped. That is, until I read Clay Jacobsen's books The Lasko Interview, Circle of Seven and Interview with the Devil. All three books have recurring characters and thus essentially form a sort of trilogy (although I hope this isn't the end!). So I put this review here that really covers all three of them. For those that enjoy outstanding fiction with a Christian theme, these are THE books for you! Even if you aren't Christian yourself, the subject is tastefully dealt with and is not pushy or "preachy" - it is simply the story of Christians and non-Christians and their interactions in life, weaved seemlessly into heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat action and adventure that is sure to keep you glued to the pages. I have never read ANY book from cover to cover in a single day until I got a hold of these - they were really THAT good. Helicopters, kidnapping, terrorism, espionage, conspiracies, and more - you'll find it in these terrific stories.Clay Jacobsen is truly a gifted writer and thankfully he followed his calling to present us with these astounding examples of excellent literature and unique perspectives into life and how God works in and through us every day. I would give 10 stars out of 5 if it let me! Clay Jacobsen is the Tom Clancy of Christian fiction.
