Inside Old McDonald's Barn

My granddaughter, now 19 months old, has loved this book for months now. She requests that I read it to her, she flips through the pages on her own, and she loves to have us sing the song. My favorite part and also a big hit with the toddler is to make accompanying animal noises as we go through the book. I get some questioning looks, especially with pigeon noises, but animal noises clearly add a great deal to her enjoyment. The book is extremely sturdy and has held up well through repeated usage. The illustrations are outstanding. You will not go wrong with Mr. Reasoner's book.

I am so impressed by all the books in this series/line! My 18-month-old daughter loves them, and I even enjoy looking at them. There is almost always something I didn't notice the last time, and we both enjoy looking at all the things that are going on in every single picture. Even the way the books are shaped is neat: the one about pirates is shaped like a pirate ship. The one about the old woman's shoe is shaped like a shoe. And so on. And the pages are some of the thickest I've ever seen in a board book, so I know they're going to last a long time if they stay dry! I highly recommend any/all of the Charles Reasoner board books to other parents. They are utterly enjoyable as well as being very sturdy.
