Dinosaurs from the inside out

This is a DK product, and has the feel of other books in the Eyewitness Books series. Like that series, this is for young readers, and its format is pretty much the same. The volume begins by placing the book in context (Page 6): "Inside a dinosaur? You're kidding!" The book uses scientists' best guesses about the inside of dinosaurs, how they actually functioned. An examination, for instance, of teeth and jaws (pages 10-11) can tell us quite a bit about how different dinosaurs could eat. Comparisons here include T. Rex with the Battery-Toothed Duckbill versus Anatasaurus. Related to this is another subject--"Slash and Gnash (pages 20-21), in which Deinonychus' hunting style and feeding techniques are portrayed. "Brains and Bodies" (pages 26-27) looks at the dinosaur often depicted as among the less intelligent of its kind--Stegosaurus. A nice discussion of brain size compared with body size. Were dinosaurs warm-blooded or cold-blooded? There's a lively debate among scientists, and this book takes a shot at this issue (pages 34-35). I'm not convinced by the answer, but at least there is an effort to address it this. Just so, birds. There is another debate here--are birds dinosaurs? Or not? Pages 40-41 and 44-45 discuss this. For young readers, this will be a neat book. A good read, filled with lots of information. . . .

Young dianosaurs fan's favorite book

I decide to buy this book because my 3-year-old son keeps borrowing this book from library. It illustrates dinosaurs' body structure in details.
