"Very Good Condition" my a**

The book came with a torn cover and a large library stamp across the top. The inner binding is coming apart, I don't know on what planet this book is considered "very good" condition. "Good" is generous. Not happy!

Love it!!!

The detail really pulls you into the story

Cover of book was not what I ordered

I ordered this book and chose an option that had artwork. I got a copy that showed the movie. Was very disappointed.

I was very happy with this copies.

I bought 2 so I can read it with my nephew. very happy

Inkheart is a wonderfully delightful adventurous read

I've owned all three Inkheart books for at least a decade now. However, my copy of Inkheart was a paperback, that my mom and I had evidently read so often it lost it's cover, so I was in dire need of a replacement. And as my copies of Inkspell and Inkdeath are hardcover, I figured I should complete the set and purchase a hardcover copy of Inkheart to complete the set. Imagine my surprise when I open it upon arrival and discover it's a US First Edition! Lol. I thought that was pretty neat. The Inkheart series is a wonderfully delightful adventurous read. And I highly recommend it! As well, it's always fun to read about characters who adore books as much as you do!

A Book for Your Inner Child

With one or two more run through this book could've been in my top five. Indeed, during the first hundred or so pages I was ready to fight anyone who dared pry the book from my hands (as I would not have given it up willingly). Almost every character treated books like precious treasures, to be more highly valued than gold, and those who didn't were obviously evil. Oh, how I loved it! Maggie could be my spirit animal, with her beautiful book box and her ever growing desires. And now I know what a marten is! How cute are they? My only issue with this book is some fundamental flaws in the writing structure. There were some major info dumps and times where I felt like scenes needed to be cut because they didn't make sense. I love Corneila Funke because she's so creative, the Thief Lord was the perfect mix of mystery and fantasy, and this book spoke directly to my inner child, if she could just perfect those finishing details her books would be as well sought after as the Inkheart she wrote about. As is, I can barely complain enough to give her book four out of five cows, and I sincerely hope there are more books from her to come!

the book that got me to love reading

such a good book. recommend to anyone who really loves reading. v imaginative.

This book showed how special it is to read.

I had never liked a book in my life but I did love stories and had a lot of imagination. I read this book after I saw the movie because I didn't want the story to end and once I started reading this it only left my hands a few times till I finished it. The whole time I was hooked. I highly recommend this for younger readers of 10 or 12 who might be on the edge about I. This book references many classic books and so also inspires more to explore. Inkheart shows the wonderful way a book can become more than just pages and ink.

Inkheart

I loved this book. In fact, I ordered the 2 sequels to this and can't wait to start them. This was a fun read. Every fantasy reader wants a character to come to life. Great read!

Good learning tool

I was required to read this novel for my 300 level University German course. I find this book was very well written and fairly easy to comprehend with minimal work for those who have a bit of background in German. I was lucky enough to come across an English copy of the book while reading the German version and it translates almost perfectly per chapter. With languages there is always the exception that some ideas cannot be fully translated but this books structure was superb in my opinion. I was also impressed by the underlying information the author included in the novel. Such advanced ideas in such a young reader's novel! I cannot wait to read the other two books of the series. I highly recommend this for its great story line and the underlying historical aspects contained within the book.

A Magical Fantasy Worth Reading Again and Again.

This is an amazing story! I never wanted to put it down! I felt like I personally knew all the characters. It was disappointing when I finished it. I wanted it to keep going; to never stop. It is the kind of book that surprises you, relaxes you, and even gives you a knot in the pit of your stomach. I will definitely read it again. I am currently reading the sequel, Inkspell. This book is equally as good as Inkheart, and Inkdeath is on the way!

Inkheart rocks!

Inkheart is such a good book. It was so good that it passed up my favorite book. it's all about this girl named Meggie and her father. Her father can read things out of books but later in the story so can she. This man Capricorn wants her father and will do anything to get him and if not he will settle for the second best, Meggie. Read the book to find out what happens next in full detail. It was the best book i've ever read in my life! It couldn't have been better. Well maybe but i couldn't think of any flaws. I loved it. It was exillerating and suspen ceful. I wanted to scream when they ended a chapter and it didn't have a solution to to there problem. It's a very long book (534 pages to be exact) but it wasn't that they were dragging it out well maybe. it's kind of hard to explain. it was very detailed and it never got boring. I personaly love long books but if you don't than i would still try it. Because the farther you got into it the more you wanted to read it. It's adicting, Once you start reading it you can't stop reading it, it's like drugs or cigarettes you just can't stop. it's amazing, amusing, and out of this world. It's hard to explain what the books about without telling you what happens in the end. You kind of lose yourself in the vivid descriptions and the diolauge. it just seems so real. My mom told me i could read for a half of an hour but i ended up reading till almost midnight. That's how bad it is. You get totally obsorbed in the book. i haven't read the sequel yet but i entend to. anyways as you probably guessed by now i highly recomend this book. If it was good enough to score high on me with my stingy book taste it will probably score high on you. Taimani age 10

PEOPLE DON'T PAY ENOUGH ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY'RE READING!

If you're going to complain about this book then don't even write a review until you can appretiate great literature. I'm only 9 and I've probably read more then 500 books in my life. Now only 1 out of each twenty to thirty books I read are worth reading, and let me tell you, this was one of them. I personally, don't like good books to end so I was glad this was 544 pages long. If you disagree with me you just don't like reading. You would rather boot up your computer or switch on the T.V. you might not take me seriously since I'm only nine, but that would be one of the biggest mistakes you'll ever make. I DO NOT read books on my age level! I read books my sister who's 15 years old reads! Inkheart is my favorate book, and that's saying a lot, because I don't know about you, but I'm a very very picky reader. Cornelia Funke is THE BEST childrens writer I've ever known.(I've read hundreds of different books and rated hundereds of authors) I want to become an author someday and I can only dream of being as good as Cornelia Funke. A young THOROUGH reader.
