While vacationing, homicide detective J.P. Beaumont comes across a beautiful blonde and her murdered escort, two State Parole Board members, and becomes involved in the case of a murderer seeking vengeance for a Parole Board's fatal mistake.
As an avid J. A. Jance fan, I must say that this was originally published in 1986 and is the second in the Beau series....Loved it then, as I have loved all of Ms. Jance's books. I was surprised, however, that this was reprinted now (and with a price increase) as I haven't seen any others in the series reprinted. More importantly, for those of you who (like me) enjoy reading books in their proper order, I recommend the website www.sykm.com---it's wonderful for many things which I hope you'll take advantage of, but if an author is listed, you will find lots of wonderful information that will help the reader out...Now onto some unread books on my shelves!
Any book with JP is a good book.

While I really enjoyed this book as I do all of J. A. Jance's J.P. Beaumont and Joanna Brady series, I do wish that all the books had their number in the series in the title. I find myself reading them out of order. Even though each book is complete in its storyline, timeline wise it would be better to read the series in order.
Another GREAT book by J.A.
