4.5 Stars -- Other Reviewer didn't appreciate subtleties in consciousness

With all due respect, the other reviewer who gave this book one star and said there was only one page of useful information in it, that is just downright untrue. If you are looking for a list of herbs and plants and their medicinal uses and expect this to be that book, that is the only way you can say only a page is worth something. This book offers something as important -- or more important -- than knowledge of medicinal plants. It is about consciousness and conscienciousness as taught by American Indian traditions. Example, as a part of how to meditate: "The Silence majestically weaves its magic spell, as it gathers all nature within its fold. At last, the serenity of spiritual Silence flows into your every fiber, drenching it with divine purity." One chapter is called "The Pathway of Peace" another has healing prayers. The book all covers vision quests, communicating in spirit with loved ones who have passed away. This book discusses also how the Native Americans were laughed at and made to feel humiliated and called stupid and superstitious by white man and missionary. This caused much to go underground. This book brings back some opening of the meaning of the Great Spirit and also gives many stimulating concepts about same. I would not call the book perfect, but it is well worth reading and meditating upon.
