I love the main character of this book, Lally Fletcher. Every year I reread this story. Lally is an inspiration to women. She shows strength and vulnerability. She keeps her integrity despite adversity. The area in which the book takes place, is still very similar to the time period of the book. I found that visiting East Anglia makes you appreciate some of struggles she faced. BBC should make this into a movie.
