Thank you, Ms. Charbonneau

I read this book over two years ago, and it has haunted me ever since. I found that the characters were so real and their situation made so life-like that I identified with them. As a continuation of the story of Asher and Ginny, this book is a delight. Standing on its own, this tale is a masterpiece. Thank you, Ms. Charbonneau!

Joshua's turn.

Remember the story of Asher Woods? Well, he has grown up and has his own kids. This one is the story of fourteen-year-old Joshua Woods. He is caught between his Indian and French ancestry. He looks French, but his twin sister looks Indian. They may be twins, but look and act nothing alike. Joshua has a run in with the Chase family...like his father before him. Once again the ghost of Sally Hamilton appears when the Woods family needs her most. ***I had no idea when I began this book that I would meet familiar characters from a previous book. It made the story seem even more real.***

The son of Asher Woods gets his own story!

This is an exciting tale, sure to satisfy.

Susannah and Joshua Woods are 14, searching to find their own identity. Their father Asher is proud of his Indian heritage; and Susannah also seems at peace. But Joshua wants to go to college, a venture that would take him away from the family and, Asher fears, indoctrinate him in a Yankee culture that doesn't value all people equally. In the midst of this debate, Asher forsees the coming of a year without summer, so cold and hard the wolves will be driven down from their usual habitat in search of food. Joshua is embarrased by his father's prediction, and their neighbors initially scoff. But Asher's prediction comes true, bringing the clashes between father and son--and between neighbors--to a powerful climax. This is an exciting tale, sure to satisfy
