Immune System Handbook: Your Owners Manual

This is a readable, accessible introduction to the human immune system. It includes many cartoon illustrations of all known immune system cells, such as "The Phil Brothers" (I prefer this to 'neutrophils', 'basophils', and 'eosinophils')! This gives a quick, intuitive sense of what these do. The book is also invaluable in describing visualization to enhance immune system functioning. Although I started out a skeptic about this, Day cites much research which supports the idea that visualizing an improved immune system actually improves immune functioning. Although the book is readable and easy to grasp, comments from several M.D.s attest to the sound scientific description which Day has given the immune system. If you want a fun, easy-to-read, but accurate introduction to the immune system, this is it. And if you want to learn why - and how - to improve your immune system by visualization, there is no better book.
