Materialistic, Western philosophy has elevated the capacity of the intellect as the final arbiter in the determination of what constitutes reality. However, inherent to the authentic, intrinsic identity of the human being, resides the capacity to directly engage phenomena and discover their essential condition. The human singularity of existence experientially ascertains the inherent significance of a thing, without reliance upon the abstractly functioning intellect, or of evaluation through subjective sentiment.
