Imitating Christ: Becoming More Like Jesus

"Imitating Christ" is a real eye-opener in which R.T. Kendall explains how every Christian should live their lives using Jesus Christ our Savior as an example. Kendall does this by diagnosing Philippians 2:5-11, a passage written by the apostle Paul, who describes how Christ lived His life in a way that put others before Him, both Christians and non-Christians, and focused on pleasing God rather than Himself. This a very powerful book that goes into much detail to explain how we can live our lives the way in which God wants us. Kendall's writing is very organized, insightful, and straightforward, and is easy for anyone to understand. It's kind of short, but the content speaks volumes about a very important subject - one that unfortunately gets overlooked in our society. Overall this is an amazing book that everyone can benefit from on so many levels. It'll really make you change the way you think about everything you do so that you try to live a life that glorifies God and serves as a good example to others.

I have never read one of R.T.Kendall's books before, but that will change! I have been a Christian for 23 years and have read over a hundred titles in that time as well as being an avid Bible student. Among my very favorites are The Incomparable Christ, by Oswald Sanders; The Pleasures of God, by John Piper and Knowing God, by J.I.Packer, just to name a few. There is a common theme among these titles and that is God Himself - I cannot get enough of Him! If you are like me, then do yourself a huge favor and read Mr Kendall's new book - it is my new number one out of all the titles I've read. Some of his insights, and clarity of thought can only come from someone who truly knows our God. Very readable. Destined to be a classic.
