My almost 4-yr-old son and I very much enjoy this book we are borrowing from the library. It reads smoothly, which I find to be rare for translations. The "first person" style is charming and my son asks, "which one is talking to us?" I love the torn-paper look of the artwork. The end of the book explains how to keep pill bugs as pets. We now have a plastic bug box full of pill bugs including teeny tiny cute babies.

This book has been a good accompaniment to my preschool classroom bug habitat. It tells the story of the life of a pill bug in a clear and fun way that my students enjoy very much.

The beautiful illustrations and touching story which is told in first person, or should I say "first pill bug" make this a outstanding story. Great book to use in a classroom.
