Usborne Illustrated Stories for Girls

Refreshing version of classic fairy tales with bright colors and a nice size to fit into little hands. In addition, the ribbon book mark made my child feel very grown up.

I will agree with another reviewer that the illustrations are not the best. The stories however are the perfect length for the end of the night bedtime routine. My daughter was dissapointed at first that the Twelve Dancing Princesses was not the recent "Barbie" addition, but soon found the original story to be just as enjoyable. I liked that she was able to hear the classic tale. A great mixture of stories that I highly recommend.

This book is full of fun stories for little kids. My daughter didn't want me to stop reading this to her! It has the best (and most amusing) version of The Princess and the Pea I've ever read. Great book! Highly recommend if you are like me and read bedtime stories to your kids. They will definitely enjoy them. One caution - "The Little Mermaid" has the original Hans Christian Anderson ending, meaning she dies in the end. This was a little confusing to my 4yr old who is so used to the Disney 'happy ever after' version. Also the illustrations are just beautiful! Especially the watercolors.

This book is an absolute must for girls, young or old. The illustrations are so cute and beautiful and the quality of the book just can't be beat!

My daughter (entering 1st grade) loves this book -- it has great pictures and 14 cute stories. She can read it independently or with us, and she feels like a grown-up because it's a nice, thick book with a ribbon to keep her page saved. We give it to all her friends for their birthdays now!
