Illustrated Corvette Buyer's Guide

Interesting book if you are looking for details - only goes to 1997 Vettes. Was looking for current pricing information (book has sticker prices); somewhat like blue book values on various models based upon mileage, etc. Was trying to avoid my own cost analysis process as I am looking for a vette and trying not to spend months trying to figure out going market prices.

Shopping knowledge

I used this as my first book on Corvette knowledge to get an idea of what is out there. It worked great. I actually took it to the main Corvette (used) dealer in Phoenix and browsed the lot at the same time. It was very useful and worth every penny.Has a BREIF breakdown of options/color/numbers for each year.

Corvette: A Buyers Guide

Given the small size of the book the detail is excellent and accurate. The book was published in black and white (including illustrations) which limited the identification of Corvette models. For example, the corvette Anniversary model in the 1980's has body colored alloys and a different sort of pillar on the door. The book is very useful if you are wanting to purchase a corvette as it has engine numbers, colours and all details from that date so that you know all the real details of the car. Perhaps the next addition will have colored pictures, considering that most aspects of a car are viewed and it is important to identify the subtle details of a vehicle, especially special features (ie. anniversary cars).

Excellent trivia book with many historical details

While not a large book (only 176 pages), nor technical by any nature, this book does cover the C1-C5 (up to 1997) in a fantastic "meat and potatoes" manner. I would have liked to have seen even more detail (especially on the specialty Corvette options such as the ZR-1, L-88, ZL-1, etc.), what it did have was excellent and accurate. The price/option sheets and the Serial Number identifiers were an unexpected bonus for a book of this size and price.Keep it up Michael!

An excellent, readable history of the Corvette

This book covers the the car, and the people behind the car. Excellent reading about the automotive industry. Sure to please any auto enthusiast. It also covers models, options, serial numbers, production volumes and trivia.
