Just wanted to say - the Conran's series is for a British market...so they would be versed in flavors such as elderberry, and would know that caster sugar is white sugar (vs. powdered sugar, which they call icing sugar). Were the receipes well-written? Was the final product tasty? Were the photos nice? Did you feel intrigued or inspired by it? Those would be a better measure of a cookbook's value - not our own ignorance of other cultures and flavors, no?
