A book of touching simplicity and spiritual intimacy.

Sometimes in this book I find myself reading about qualities I would rather not admit I relate to. I find myself transfixed by the story, thinking, "How's Jesus gonna affect this one?" Invariably, after reading a meditation, I have felt powerfully touched by Jesus' love and compassion in ways that often surprise me and make me hungry for the next story. I feel closer to God, myself and others and it stays with me for hours. Reading about Mary Magdalene, Peter, and the others - they seem so human, they could be your neighbor, your family or coworker - or even you or me. The ONLY thing I don't like about this book is the title - which I feel is awkward and doesn't capture the essence of this book and I worry that it won't reach as many people as it could with a cleaner title. If I were to have named it, I think I would have chosen something like, "New Light on Jesus." The title aside, this is a great book - spiritually powerful as it is simple and well written!
