We love this book! The illustrations are very beautiful and the story is funny, wonderful and imaginative about a little girl visiting her grandma. We look forward to more books by Aileen Leijten!
Children Love The Hugging Hour

As a school librarian for almost 26 years I have come to know what kinds of stories younger children like the most. Children like most stories read to them but they prefer those that make them laugh. I read The Hugging Hour to our Pre-k and Kg. classes last week. In both classes, the children laughed quite a bit. They loved the story and the illustrations. When asked which part they liked best, many children said, "everything." I asked the children who would want to borrow the book...most hands went up. I urge teachers, parents and especially grandparents to purchase this adorable, enchanting story.
Embrace this book!

It's always nice to see a children's book that focuses on the relationship between Grandparent and child, and this book does so winningly. The soft and delicate artwork compliments the text perfectly, and there is plenty of humor to keep the adults (who will be reading this again and again) very amused. Hugging Hour should be welcomed with open arms. Highly recommended!

Drool's first sleepover at Grandma's is both tender and hilarious. I love the quirky illustrations and the wonderfully eccentric Grandma. This is a great book for Grandma's and Grandpa's to have around for that first sleepover, and a great storytime read. Highly recommended! Also check out Bella & Bean by Rebecca Kai Dotolich and illustrated by Aileen Leijten. Wonderful.
